How does Shadez Spray
Tan work?
Shadez Spray Tan is a sunless tanner. Most sunless
tanning products use Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the
active “tanning” ingredient. DHA is a skin safe
vegetable derivative, which has been used in the
cosmetic industry for over 30 years.
DHA interacts with the outermost, surface skin
layer; producing a golden brown “just off the beach”
tan. DHA reacts with the naturally occurring amino
acids and keratin proteins, in the “dead” skin cells
on the skin surface. It's the way to gorgeous colour
without spending a minute under sun.
How long will
my Shadez Spray Tan last?
Your Shadez Spray Tan will last approximately 5-10
days. Tan fading rate is influenced by your skins
natural exfoliation rate, your pre-tan preparation,
post tan care, general skin heath, and your life
style.
With follow up applications, a person can maintain
the tan indefinitely. Using moisturizers on the skin
daily will help extend tanning results while keeping
the tan looking healthy and glowing. A sunless tan
is not a long term commitment, so it is great to try
for the first time!
Are sunless
tanning solutions safe?
YES! According to the American Academy of
Dermatology, the most effective products available
are sunless or self-tanning products that contain
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient.
DHA has been used in cosmetic preparations for
almost 30 years and was listed with the FDA in 1973.
It is declared safe and suitable for use in
cosmetics and drugs used to colour the skin.
Although no problems have been reported, for the
peace of mind of our clients, and technicians, we do
not recommend usage by pregnant women.
Will a Shadez
Spray Tan sunless tan cause freckles?
Shadez will not cause more freckles. In fact, in
most cases, freckles and blemishes will become LESS
obvious because the lighter skin areas will darken
and reduce the colour differential between these
areas and the rest of the skin.
How do I
maintain my Shadez Spray Tan?
Hydrated moisturized skin maintains a tan longer
than dry skin. Keep your skin moisturized, and avoid
long, hot showers and baths. Try to avoid excessive
rubbing of the skin or wearing tight clothing that
chafes at the skin.
